Choosing the Right Day
Pick Your Day, Like the Classics Do
The almanac is a filter, not a fortune. Use it to avoid friction on days that matter, and to give momentum to what you begin.
How to read this page
- Yi & Ji — the day’s favorable and unfavorable activities. Three-to-five per side is typical; do your important things in the Favorable list, and postpone anything in the Avoid list if you can.
- Clash — a direction and a zodiac animal. On a day that clashes your sign, keep the listed direction out of your important plans.
- Day God — the twelve-day cycle of spirits (Azure Dragon, Bright Hall …) that marks the day auspicious or inauspicious at the top level.
- Building-cycle day — the Jian Chu (建除) twelve-day rhythm of the month: Establish, Remove, Fulfill, Level, Settle, Break, Danger, Become, Receive, Open, Close, and Do-Nothing.
- Hours — even a neutral day has auspicious windows. Match your hour to the task.
