Cast the change
One clear question per cast. Heads counts 3, tails counts 2 — three coins give 6 (old yin), 7 (young yang), 8 (young yin) or 9 (old yang). Old lines change: the hexagram transforms.
Quiet the mind first. The coins fall as the moment dictates — three heads is 9 (old yang), one head 7, two heads 8, three tails 6 (old yin).

One question only
Ask one concrete question — about a situation, not a gamble. "How should I approach this?" reads far better than "Will X happen?"
Six throws, quietly
Cast the coins six times, bottom line first. The six lines together form your hexagram; old yin and old yang lines mark where it changes.
Primary, then change
Read the primary hexagram for where you are now. With changing lines, read each changing line's advice, then the transformed hexagram for where things are headed.
